A 42 year old local man is going to spend four months in jail after pleading guilty to child porn charges.
Court was told the charges stem from a 2013 investigation into a user on a kiddie porn chat room whose internet service provider address linked back to a Thunder Bay home.
Police later searched the residence of Geoffrey Filmore and found several files stored on his computer.
Lawyer David Young says his client is ashamed and calls it a costly lesson but one well learned that won’t be repeated.
Young adds his client is haunted by his time in the military.
Filmore told the judge he wish he had received psychological help when he was released from the army and maybe his life would had turned out better.
Filmore can not have contact with anyone under the age of 16, he’s not allowed to attend parks, pools or any other areas where kids may be present.
He’ll also serve 18 months probation. (File photo)
