Plenty of local residents are speaking to City Council tonight about the proposed event centre.
Several have been against the project noting they are not in favour of using the federal gas tax funding for the creation of the facility.
The group Citizens for a Waterfront Event Centre had some concerns but in the end came out in favour of the project as did a representative from the local curling organization.
