The Chamber of Commerce is urging City Council to not go ahead with phase 5 of the event centre. They don’t think the financial plan for the facility is strong enough.
President Charla Robinson says they support the event centre, but the City should take a step back from the project. She says it shouldn’t have to be a “now or never” decision, rather she suggests working with the stakeholders to “get it right.”
The Chamber takes issue with using gas tax funds for the multi-plex instead of the crumbling infrastructure of roads, bridges and storm sewers.
