A faulty electric power bar is said to be the cause of a fire at the Westfort Hotel on Monday morning.
City fire inspector Eric Nordlund says that it caused a minimal amount of damage in the kitchen area and no one was hurt. However Nordlund was critical of the tenants of the Brown Street apartments on the second floor.
He says even as there was a working fire going there were people upstairs looking out their windows watching as crews were hauling hoses into the building. Nordlund says firefighters had to go and tell people to leave the building.
