There are changes coming for tenants of social housing in the district.
The social services board is going to demand all new residents purchase home insurance. Spokesperson Ken Ranta says the new rule was passed at last week’s board meeting. Ranta says it’ll help residents if they become victims of flooding or other such calamities.
He says currently, when such incidents happen many clients don’t have the means to get back on their feet and this will help them out both financially and emotionally.
