CN Rail Heads To Court

CN Rail says it won’t beat its head against the wall any longer, regarding the James Street Swing Bridge.

The company has announced it’s going to court, to seek a judge’s ruilng on what its exact obligations are, regarding the 1906 agreement.

CN says it sees no other way to resolve the issue and put a stop to what it says are “false and unjust attacks on its reputation” by the city and Fort William First Nation.

The bridge has been closed to vehicle traffic since October of 2013 after a fire scorched the structure. Since then the City and CN Rail have been in a stalemate over who will be responsible for fixing it. (File photo)
