Dentistry Students At Dalhousie Back To Class Monday

The dentistry scandal at a Nova Scotia university continues to unfold just as those students are set to head back to classes on Monday.

Dalhousie University in Halifax suspended 13 dentistry students from practicing, after sexist comments were made against women in a Facebook group.

In addition, the men made inappropriate comments directed toward their female classmates.

Senior staff at the university gathered for emergency meetings on Friday, following repeated calls to reveal the names of the men associated with the Facebook group and intense pressure to expel those students.

Students in the dentistry program were given an extended Christmas break, in an effort to diffuse a tense situation – which has gained national attention.
