Science North is launching a new educational program across the region.
It’s called the Northern Trading Experience.
Kenora M.P. Greg Rickford says it allows local residents to trade some of their personal artifacts for objects that have been collected through Science North.
“So if a child goes down to Florida…brings a seashell back, they can trade with somebody through this Science North program,” says Rickford.
“This is an opportunity for young kids and adults alike to come in…with gemstones and other artifacts to trade for things that are from other parts of the region.”
Rickford says FedNor is providing funding to roll the program out, initially in Red Lake, and later to Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay.
