Editorial cartoonists are reacting to the armed attack on a Paris newspaper office that left 12 people dead.
Canadian editorial cartoonist Michael De Adder, who’s work has been featured in a number of publications including the Toronto Star, says he never thought death was a consequence of putting pen to paper.
“I used to think that what I did would garner a strongly worded letter to the editor, or maybe getting sued, or at worse, a punch in the nose,” says De Adder.
“But the world has kind of changed that way.”
De Adder drew a cartoon this week depicting a hand writing the words ‘Freedom Of Speech,’ with terrorists trying to stop it from writing. (File photo)
