3 NWO First Nation Communities Non-Compliant

Three northwestern Ontario First Nations communities are on the list of those who haven’t complied by the First Nations Transparency Act.
The new law requires all First Nations to publicly post financial statements as well as band and chief salaries.
Kashechewan, Wabauskang and Neskantaga First Nations haven’t abided by the rules.
A total of 55-First Nations in Canada, including 12 in Ontario, haven’t posted their financial information.
The Onion Lake Cree Nation, which straddles the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary, is taking the government to court over the new law.
