NAN To Argue Jury Roll Selection Before The SCOC

The jury roll question goes before the Supreme Court of Canada Monday.

The top court in the land will be hearing arguments in a case that relates to the lack of First Nations on provincial jury rolls. Nishnawbe Aski Deputy Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler says NAN will argue before the justices, that their people must included in the jury selection process.

He believes that based on earlier court rulings, NAN has a very strong case, however Fiddler is very critical of the provincial government for forcing the case to be heard at the Supreme Court level.

A final decision from the high court is not expected for several months.
