The Waterfront District BIA appears to be considering using a Falconer to chase away seagulls in the northcore.
In an e-mail to building owners in the BIA they are asking permission from them to access their rooftops so they can be assessed for seagull nests.
Falconer Kym Amonson says once they get their blessing they’ll assess ways of curbing the gull population such as removing eggs, nests and oiling the eggs so they won’t hatch.
Amonson says they also have some scare tactics that have been proven to ward off the birds.
