The sale of the municipal golf course comes with a price, says City Councillor Rebecca Johnson.
Councillor Iain Angus is recommending to council Monday that money from the sale be used toward improving area parks.
But Johnson says council should be cautious about making decisions outside of policy.
“Anything that is sold normally goes into the city’s land development account, so we would be going outside of due process,” Johnson says. “I have an issue with that. I think that this would be an exception, but I don’t think we should be setting a precedent.”
