Canfield Opposed To Licence Fees For Seniors

A proposal to introduce hunting and fishing licence fees for seniors in Ontario is being called “disgusting”.
That’s the reaction of northwestern Ontario’s Dave Canfield.
The Kenora mayor suggests it’s just another money grab by the provincial government.
He believes that revenues have gone down because the government is charging too much for hunting and fishing, effectively pricing itself out of the market.
City council has drafted a resolution asking the government to remove the proposal for a seniors hunting and fishing licence fee from a discussion paper released earlier this year. (File Photo)
