D-Day Remembered

All over Canada today people will be taking time to remember the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
It was on this day in 1944 that over 21-thousand Canadian soldiers stormed Normandy Beach in the largest seaborne invasion of German occupied Western Europe.
Local second world war veteran Roy Lamore says it’s a significant anniversary that should never be forgotten.
Over 5-thousand Canadians soldiers were killed in the ensuing battle of Normandy…that helped lead to the end of the second World War.
There will be a ceremony here in Thunder Bay on Sunday at Hillcrest Park.
