Canada is again in conversation with the United States following shocking news the Trump administration has asked 3M not to supply N95 masks to Canada.
The Trump administration has invoked the Defense Production Act, requiring the Minnesota based company, to prioritize orders for the masks for Americans.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says they are having conversations about this and are making their point heard.
“The importance of keeping the flow of essential goods and services across our border to help both of our countries…I am confident that the close and deep relationship between Canada and (the) U.S. will hold strong and that we will not have to see interruptions in (the) supply chain in either direction,” stated the prime minister.
The Prime Minister did not indicate whether or not Canada would take retaliatory action.
There is a report out of the U.S. that 3M may be pushing back against the order.
