Dinner got out of hand and caused a kitchen fire in an apartment building.
Yesterday evening fire crews arrived to the building at Vickers Street South and Arthur St.
Crews pushed through heavy black smoke to get to the kitchen and get the fire under control.
There were no injuries and everyone had evacuated safely.
With the extensive damage to the unit, the apartment wasn’t fit for the three people that lived there. Red Cross was called in to help them.
This is a good reminder to never leave anything on the stove unattended.
