Four Picked Up For Suspected Drug Trafficking

Two from Thunder Bay among those arrested by police on the north side.

Officers report the suspects attempted to block efforts to respond to a reported overdose just after 2:40 a.m. Tuesday on Manitou Street perpendicular to Lake Street.

The individual suspected of having suffered an overdose was released from the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after receiving further treatment.

Cash and suspected cocaine was found by police.

A 37-year-old man and 47-year-old woman appeared in bail court Tuesday and will be back before a judge later to answer to the following charges:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Breach of Probation
  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
