Increased Capacity At TBSO Concerts

A sold-out, live audience again for the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra.

The TBSO performed the first concerts of their 60th season on Thursday, October 21 and Friday October 22.

More good news for music lovers in the city, as capacity limits for the remaining scheduled concerts will be lifted as we see updated provincial guidelines.

This allows more patrons, many for the first time since the start of the pandemic, to experience live music once again.

This season welcomed back Music Director Paul Haas to Thunder Bay after a 20-month hiatus.

He proclaimed his delight for being able to reunite with the entire orchestra and in-person audience.

The next concert is November 5, and will feature Conductor Maria Fuller, Vocalist Nancy Freeborn, and Danny Johnson playing guitar and piano.

The event will have the music of Sia, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin and more.

Proof of vaccination for anyone over the age of 11 will be required to attend any of the concerts for the foreseeable future.

The second half of the season will be announced in November, and you can find more details about upcoming shows here.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
