City Council could set aside $1.4-million dollars toward overhauling the Centennial Botanical Conservatory.
The city’s Parks and Open Spaces Manager Cory Halvorsen will give an update at Monday night’s meeting, and says they now estimate the cost between just under $4-million to $4.7-million, as they’ve figured out more details about the design.
“To make sure that operationally, whether it’s for production, or for how we envision the entire facility to be working together, we’re trying to catch all the facility improvements… now would be the time to do it,” notes Halvorsen.
He adds if Council approves the plan and the city can confirm outside funding for the work, they could start building next year. “The project could stretch out beyond two years. But if we could fully fund it right from the start, our approach would likely be for a two year construction period.”
The latest update on the Conservatory puts the renewal project at between about $4- and 4.7-million in total.
