Kerri Negley has $522,710 in her pocket thanks to winning this month’s Thunder Bay 50/50 draw.
The Kakabeka woman was standing in the middle of a field when she got the call Friday.
“I had to call the number back, and to my surprise it was about the 50/50 draw!” Negley exclaimed. “I have a big close-knit family, and COVID has been hard on all of us. This jackpot will help a lot of people.”
The Thunder Bay’s 50/50 draw raises money for the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre to buy important equipment.
Since the monthly draw started in January, the hospital has bought three specialized ICU beds, a ventilator and defibrillator, and raised over $2-million.
