Individual Fighting For Their Life In Hospital

No update yet from Thunder Bay police as to the condition of the person taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries in an Arthur Street crash.

There were two people sent to hospital, due to the three vehicle crash near Mapleward Road.

Police, fire and ambulance crews arrived at the scene just before 9:30 Monday morning to find one of the vehicles was on fire.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue officials say while they put the fire out, emergency responders got to work freeing the people involved in the crash. They are crediting one of the people in the crash with pulling another victim out of the vehicle, saying that and the teamwork between firefighters, EMS and police prevented the situation from becoming much worse.

The road was opened Monday afternoon.
