Roundabout Gets City Approval

City Council is approving the construction of the roundabout planned for Edward Street at Redwood Avenue.

While the project has been a hot topic in the community, there was no discussion, with the sole vote against the construction coming from At Large Councillor Rebecca Johnson.

Lowest bidder Nadin Contracting will be carrying out the project. The price tag is estimated to be just under $2.7 million.

This will be the first two-lane roundabout in the city. To help locals familiarize themselves, City Council representatives have stated there will be a public education campaign.

The work is scheduled to begin early this summer, and wrap up by the end of October.
