Pepper Spray Used To Arrest Suspect

A 30-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing charges after a disturbance with a fake gun on Maple Ward Road.

Police were called to the area Wednesday evening concerning an aggressive suspect, and when they arrived, found him with what appeared to be a gun.

They say he refused to comply with police, and then began approaching them.

Police used pepper spray to make the arrest, and found the gun to be fake.

He remains in custody after a bail hearing, for Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.
