Police Looking For More Robbery Victims

A 45-year-old Thunder Bay woman is facing a Robbery With Violence charge, and, police are looking for potential other victims.

They tell us for them it started with reports of a robbery at a home in the 100 block of Cumberland Street, on Monday, February 1st. Police found the accused had knocked on the door, and when the victim opened it, the accused barged in, took some money, and fled.

Police add the accused and victim know each other, and the victim has an intellectual disability.

Then, on Sunday, March 7th, police say the accused showed up at the same house, intending to take more money. However, the victim called 911, and by the time police showed up, the perpetrator had taken off. But, police were able to track her down and make the arrest.

Through working with the Crimes Against Seniors Division, police found the victim was targeted more than twice, and, there may have been others targeted because of their vulnerabilities.

The arrested woman has been released from custody, and has an April 13th court date.
