Former Border Cat Looks To Make The Giants

A former member of the Thunder Bay Border Cats hopes to make the opening day roster with the San Francisco Giants.

Jason Vosler is in camp with the National League squad after signing in the off-season as a free agent.

As of Tuesday Vosler has appeared in 10 Cactus League games and is hitting .357 with three doubles, one triple, one run batted in, four runs scored and one stolen base.

The third baseman played with the Border Cats in 2013, and compiled a .275 batting average, seven home runs and 47 runs batted in in 66 games.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
