Severe Damage In North End House Fire

The cause of a house fire in the north end is under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshall.

Platoon Chief Phillip Dzouba tells us they were called to the corner of Beck and Cumberland Saturday night roughly around 6:00.

“It started probably on the main floor, and made its way to the second floor. There were no injuries, there was no one inside at the time that we arrived,” says Dzouba.

The Platoon Chief adds the interior is severely damaged, with no estimate of a dollar figure yet.

Once it was out, he says fire crews spent a bit of time making sure there wasn’t any fire in the walls, because with that kind of older building the fire could’ve spread to the roof and there would be another fire.
