Feds Mandate More Screening For Travelers

Anyone landing at a Canadian airport is now subject to greater COVID-19 scrutiny.

The government says as of Monday, travelers will be required to take a COVID-19 test using a self-swab kit.

This test can be done at the traveler’s quarantine location or at a border testing site. All travelers must quarantine for 3 days at an approved nearby hotel, and pay for that bill.

This is on top of the already required proof of a negative test result within 72 hours of entry.

The Prime Minister adds this is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 variants from entering Canada.
