COVID Case Connected To St. Martin School

The discovery of a COVID-19 case connected to St. Martin School is not considered an outbreak.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit tells us there is no evidence the virus has spread in the school setting.

Health officials indicate this new case of the coronavirus is not related to the previous person that was reported about on Wednesday.

“We are actively working with the school and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board to investigate and manage any potential exposures in the school and any related settings, such as bus transportation,” states a release from the health unit.

The school board says in this case the cohort is now learning from home and that “Parents, guardians, and staff of this cohort have been contacted by members of TBCDSB and will be contacted by a Public Health Nurse.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
