Thunder Bay Breaks Record Temperature

Records from Environment Canada show Thunder Bay has broken its record for lowest temperature.

The temperature, at 9am, was recorded at -35, but it in 1962, Environment Canada shows it was -33.9.

The cold weather has affected crossing guards for students, as they have been cancelled for this morning. They are expected to be on the job in the afternoon.

School buses have not been cancelled for today, as they were yesterday.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
