Police Lay COVID-19 Restriction Charges

A 66-year-old man from Thunder Bay faces a charge under the Reopening Ontario Act.

OPP were alerted Sunday, and say they found him hosting a gathering of 23 people inside the Shuniah home.

The charge is hosting an event at a residential premises that exceeds the number of people permitted, and carries a fine of $880.

Police are asking everyone to take the public health measures seriously. The law is in place to protect everyone against the spread of COVID-19.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
