Province Expected To Pay TBDHU Pandemic Expenses

The COVID-19 outbreak is taking a bite out of the finances at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

Medical Officer Dr. Janet DeMille tells us they have received assurances from the Ontario Ministry of Health, those expenses will be looked after.

She says “We have submitted detailed expenditures that we had for…2020 to the ministry.”

The medical officer is expecting to be reimbursed for most if not all of their added pandemic expenses.

We have asked the Health Unit to provide us with the amount of money they have spent on dealing with COVID-19.
