North End Fire Sends One To Hospital

One man has been sent to hospital after an apartment fire in the north end.

Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue got the call after 4am, arriving at the Clarkson Street building to find smoke coming from a third floor unit.

They say while other tenants were being directed to other floors to avoid the cold outside, they moved into the unit, found the man, but also quickly extinguished the contents on fire.

Once the fire was put out, evacuated tenants were let back to their rooms.

The fire department adds the cause is not known yet, nor the man’s condition at hospital.

Damage to the unit is moderate.
