No complaints so far about the 2021 city budget from the Chamber of Commerce.
President Charla Robinson is welcoming a tax levy increase that starts at 2 percent and is hopeful for some constructive dialogue.
“I think this is really positive to see that this is a starting point…so we are happy to see where the starting point is,” explains Robinson.
She likes that the 2021 city budget is showing an increase in spending on capital projects, but Robinson is asking…at what cost?
The chamber president wonders “Does that capital also include some of the big projects that have been major community conversations…the indoor turf centre, the police building?”
The chamber president tells us she will be watching for any pandemic expenses and how city reserves will be used in relation to that.
