COVID Outbreak In Hospital ‘Well Controlled’

There appears to be no further spread of the coronavirus in the Oncology Unit at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Stewart Kennedy explains after discovering recently two staff members tested positive, they have cleared everyone else in 1-A.

“At the current time we’ve had all our patients on that unit tested, they’ve all come back as negative and they will be tested again this week to be sure their results are still negative,” he said.

The hospital spokesperson tells us all staff members who came into close contact with their infected colleagues are now self-isolating at home and calls the situation “Well-controlled.”

Meantime, the hospital is currently treating four COVID-19 patients with one in the intensive care unit.
