A positive COVID-19 case is being reported in the Whitefish Valley Pubic School community.
The Lakehead Public School Board reports the Thunder Bay District Health Unit was notified that a person associated with the school has tested positive for the virus.
The individual is not a student and is currently isolating at home
Contact tracing is being done to assess how many people this person associated with.
Although the person was at school during the time they were infectious, officials insist students, staff, and the community are not at an elevated risk at this time.
The board says all students and staff can continue to attend school in-person.
