COVID-19 testing in the city remains in high demand especially for school students, staff and parents.
That’s why the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is looking for a 2nd assessment site to ramp up that testing.
“We’re investigating schools, we’re also investigating Confederation College…we’ll investigate other education facilities as well,” says the hospital’s Dr. Stewart Kennedy.
He hopes the new site can be up and running by early next week since there is a real need to expedite testing noting “‘We really don’t like when there are…a thousand people in the queue, that is not appropriate care.”
Kennedy adds “We’re putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to deliver a good program to the public.”
The Regional Hospital recently took over coronavirus testing responsibilities from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
