Police have arrested a man in connection to a fire on Mission Island.
They say a 21-year-old Thunder Bay man was arrested following a fire that destroyed a recreational vehicle on Island Drive Monday night.
The RV was tucked into the bush area and was home to a man and a woman who became instantly homeless as a result. They were not hurt.
Police say the suspect surrendered peacefully about 10 o’clock that same evening after he was located at an address on the 500 block of Hargrave Street.
The fire created thick black smoke which could be seen for many kilometres on the city’s south side.
