Regional Hospital Ready For Red Lake Patients

With a forest fire threatening Red Lake the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is preparing.

Dr. Stewart Kennedy suggests it is being ready for normal business during a pandemic.

“As we all know Red Lake is being evacuated. We need to make sure we have capacity here at our hospital to take the sick from the Red Lake hospital if they need…a tertiary care center like Thunder Bay Regional Hospital,” notes Dr. Kennedy.

He explains they have already taken on a number of Red Lake patients adding “the whole northwest region has responded to the Red Lake disaster.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
