Catholic Schools Open Doors, With Restrictions

If your kids go to a Catholic school in Thunder Bay, they’ll be welcomed back September 3rd.

Now that the provincial government has released its plan, the local board says all elementary and high schools will be open all week, but with limitations on student distancing.

Parents who are not comfortable sending their kids can opt out, instead using remote learning.

As for masks, the board says kindergarten to grade 3 will be encouraged but not required to wear them, while the older grades must.

School buses will have greater safety protocols, teachers will be trained before school starts, and the board has teamed up with Thunder Bay’s District Health Unit to ensure proper monitoring and response to any cases of COVID-19.
