Minor Football Makes Changes For Fall

Changes are in store for this fall’s Thunder Bay Minor Football Association.

Coaches General Manager, Ryan Bliznikas tells us they’ve moved toward a flag football format with smaller rosters.

“By transitioning to flag football, we will have smaller groups which allows us to operate under the current provincial group sizes,” Bliznikas says.

“Our big one is to control the access in and out of Fort William Stadium just by allowing more time between games to be able to switch teams over,” Bliznikas adds.

There will also be a rule of no spitting, sharing water bottles, high fives or handshakes.

The Thunder Bay Health Unit recently approved the association’s proposed plan and the group is now working on accepting registrations to begin their fall season.
