The city is getting $44,000 for COVID-19 related support for homeless and vulnerable people.
The money is from a Community Response Fund through the Canadian Medical Association Foundation.
$20,000 of the money is going to pay for hotel rooms serving as isolation shelters for people who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
Another $14,000 will let NorWest Community Health Centres provide managed alcohol support to the shelter’s clients, while the rest will buy face masks for vulnerable people in the city.
The city will look into the best way to get those masks to the people who need them.
