OPP Set Course With Strategic Plan

A new roadmap for the Ontario Provincial Police.

A three-year strategic plan puts an emphasis on three specific areas.

Detachment Commander for the Rainy River District Inspector Nathan Schmidt says at the forefront is their people.

“A lot of it is coming from the mental health strategies, and the reviews that took place. There are several areas where we can strive to support our members to achieve professionalism and the personal best that they can do,” he explains.

Schmidt says a key highlight is a change to their values which apply to everything they do in the organization.

The plan also focuses on improving the service police deliver, and boosting the relationships police have with the communities they serve.
