New Items You Can Recycle in T-Bay!

No longer do you have to feel bad for throwing out those big plastic containers your strawberries come in, because the City of Thunder Bay’s recycling program will be accepting them as of July 1st! The crew will be taking all #1 and #2 plastic containers. For example, clamshell containers that usually come with certain salads, vegetables, berries, or pastries. Up until now, we were only allowed to recycle #1 and #2 plastic bottles.

The Solid Waste & Recycling Services team reminds us to check the label to make sure it qualifies for recycling, and to always rinse food residue off of items. So … just lick the persian icing off and it’s good to go!

When talking recycling this song always pops into my head, T-Bay’s own Rodney Brown has been spreading the good word for years!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
