Fish at Quetico Park are part of a new three-year research project.
Dr. Michael Rennie with Lakehead University and the Experimental Lakes Area will study lake herring and walleye.
He received a $75,000 grant to research how climate change and the invasive spiny water flea affect the fishes’ growth rate and their mercury levels.
It’s the first collaboration between the Quetico Foundation and Lakehead University.
