Report Confirms Mill Suspicion: Councillor

A Fort Frances town councillor is expressing his disappointment over a published report suggesting no conditions were placed on a waiver concerning the town’s mill.

That freed Resolute Forest Products from having to payback a $23-million grant for construction of a biomass boiler.

Judson says it only confirms what was long suspected.

He brought the issue to light last year that the government waived repayment after attempting to claw it back following the closure of the mill in 2013.

Judson says that waiver came at a cost to Fort Frances.
