The first official trailer for Bill & Ted Face The Music, the new film featuring the iconic duo (and bringing back DEATH!!!) launched this week. I loved the first two movies and watch them fairly regularly, though I haven’t shown them to the kids yet. I’m afraid we’ll have a call from a teacher wondering why our kids think that Napoleon LOVED ice cream and that Beethoven’s name is pronounced BEETH-Oven. Actually, that’s a call I’d probably enjoy getting! The new film finds Bill and Ted still trying to find a song that will unite the world, this time with a little help from their daughters. Apparently at some point in the future the duo become super muscular convicts…not sure how that figures into the search, but I am definitely keen to find out!
Is a threequel really needed for the series? I think so. Right now we could all use a little levity and goofy Keanu Reeves might just be the cure. There have been a lot of movies that didn’t need or deserve a sequel, but Bill and Ted could go on time travelling for a long time I think.
The new film arrives on August 21st, though I’m not sure if it’s coming to theatres or if we’ll see it launched directly for rent. Check out the trailer below!
