Police Announce Historic Fentanyl Bust

City police are calling it the largest fentanyl bust in the service’s history.

They say it was an investigation which began late last year at an address on Van Norman Street between Duke and Hill.

Police believe the people at the location were supplying drug houses thoughout the city.

Then on Wednesday evening just before 7 o’clock police raided the location and seized more than one pound of suspected fentanyl along with 700 grams of what is believed to be cocaine.

Total value of the drugs seized is about $400,000 along with about $150,000 in cash.

Two people from southern Ontario and one from Manchester, England are facing drug and weapons related charges.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
