No Injuries In South End Fire

There’s another reminder from Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue about the importance of properly throwing out used cigarette material.

They say just before 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon they were called to a multi-storey care facility on Lillie Street, to find smoke coming from an exterior wall. Once they broke into the wall, fire fighters put the fire out, which was coming from foam insulation.

Smoke made its way into two nearby buildings, but fire fighters worked quickly to remove that due to the highly vulnerable residents. There were no injuries reported.

Fire fighters add they found multiple cigarette butts near where the fire started.

It took three hours to deal with this fire.
