$1.4M In Sidewalks, Traffic Lights Up For Approval

The city is looking at approving a contract for $1.4-million worth of work on sidewalks and traffic lights.

A report to City Council tonight recommends they award the contract to RJ Concrete & Construction Ltd.

It includes replacement of the traffic light at Red River Road and Pine Street.

If it’s approved the contractor will also do the underground work, sidewalk ramps, and pavement markings for five pedestrian crossovers.

New sidewalks will be installed on segments of Arundel, Lillian and Francis Streets along with Redwood and Neebing Avenues.

The contract includes a new sidewalk on the west side of Marlborough Street between the Corpus Christi School and Ecole Gron Morgan School properties. This is a joint cost-sharing project with the Lakehead Public and Thunder Bay Catholic District School Boards, which will be invoiced for their portions.

The money also covers replacing sidewalks on Leslie, Merrill, Hartvikson, Marks, James, and Walsh Streets, County Boulevard, and Stanley Avenue.
